What time is Aquaria KLCC open?

Aquaria KLCC is open everyday including school holidays and public holidays from 10am – 7pm, last admission being at 6pm. As Aquaria KLCC is a very popular attraction in Kuala Lumpur, you can expect the queue to be really long especially on the weekends and holidays. We suggest visiting on a weekday and making your reservation online to save some time.

How to visit Aquaria KLCC?

Getting to Aquaria KLCC is very easy and can be reachable via car, train and bus. If you choose to drive here, you can park right at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (nearest & more pricy parking) or at Suria KLCC (cheaper parking, however require a 10 minutes walk). For those using the LRT (Light Rapid Transit), get off at the KLCC LRT Station (KJ10 – Kelana Jaya LRT Line) and walk to Suria KLCC via the Underpass Pedestrian Tunnel (walk towards Maybank & Uniqlo). If you are taking the MRT, get off at the Bukit Bintang Station (SBK18A), head to the Pavilion Mall and walk along the pedestrian walkway to Aquaria KLCC which should take you around 10 minutes. If you are using the monorail, exit at the Raja Chulan Station (MR7) and head towards KLCC via the pedestrian walkway.

1. Evolution Zone

The red bellied piranha, which is one of the most fascinating and deadly scavengers from the Amazon River can be found at the Evolution Zone of Aquaria KLCC. Though they are known as flesh eating and an aggressive predator, the truth is most of these piranhas avoid confrontation unless they are provoked.

2. The Stream

In this Stream section of Aquaria KLCC, you can see these cute Asian small-clawed otters swimming around their pool and waterslide. The Asian small-clawed otters are excellent swimmers using their hind legs to propel and tail to steer their direction when swimming.

3. Touch Zone/Touch Pool

The Touch Zone/Touch Pool at Aquaria KLCC is also one of the crowd’s favourite spot as visitors are allowed to gently touch or pick up some of the sea creatures in it such as the bamboo sharks, horseshoe crab, starfish and sea cucumbers.

4. Jewels of Jungle

The Jewels of Jungle at Aquaria KLCC features various insects and reptiles such as the colour changing Chameleon, the Malayan Jungle Nymph and the cold-blooded Gecko lizard. For those who aren’t squeamish, come and take a closer look at these intriguing creatures!

5. Shipwreck

The Shipwreck at Aquaria KLCC resembles the sunken ships in the middle of the ocean with broken pottery scattered inside the fish tank. Here, you can find all sorts of corals and saltwater fishes such as the clownfish, tangs and red lionfish swimming around the shipwreck.

6. Flooded Forest

One of the coolest feature at the Flooded Forest, Aquaria KLCC has to be the super huge cylindrical tank containing a vast amount of fishes such as the giant stingrays, the striped carp and the highly prized Mahseer/Empurau.

Empurau | Ikan Kelah! The most expensive fish in Malaysia

Just opposite of the cylindrical tank is the tank containing the monster sized fish such as the Arapaima and the Alligator Garfish. These Arapaima originating from South America can grow up to 4.5m/15ft, whereas the Alligator Garfish can grow up to 3m/10ft !

7. The Coastal

The Coastal exhibit at the Aquaria KLCC contains 2 of the most unique marine animals which is the Archerfish and the Giant Mudskipper.

8. Living Ocean

The Living Ocean is at the top of our list as the reason why you need to visit Aquaria KLCC! This exhibit boasts an impressive 90 metre long transparent tunnel containing numerous marine animals such as the green turtles, sand tiger sharks and the giant moray eels.

9. Weird & Wonderful

The Weird & Wonderful is a small exhibit made up of a starry pathway with cylindrical aquariums featuring the unique Pinecone fish which is able to use their bioluminescence organs to attract planktons at night.

10. Station Aquarius

When you arrive at Station Aquarius (Aquaria KLCC), it feels as if you entered a experimental laboratory containing hundreds of jellyfishes (Moon Jelly) and tiny seahorses. This section is quite fascinating to explore and is also the final exhibit of Aquaria KLCC.

1. Go for a shark dive

This activity is only for experienced and certified divers as you are required to navigate fairly well in aquarium. If you are a diver, then this will be one of the most memorable experiences diving with 5 different types of sharks in the 2.5 million litre oceanarium tank.

2. Experience the Cage Rage

If you don’t have a divers license, you can still get into the oceanarium with the sea creatures by participating in the Cage Rage experience. Here, you will be placed inside a cage partially submerged in the oceanarium, enabling you to get a closer look at the sharks and sea turtles.

3. Sleep with Sharks

This experience is specially catered for children aged between 6-13 years old to cultivate and instil awareness on taking care of our precious ocean.
