When should you visit Ranau Rabbit Farm?

The Ranau Rabbit Farm opens daily from 9am – 6pm. In our opinion, the ideal time to visit the rabbit farm is either before noon or after 4pm, as these rabbits tend to be less active on a hot day.

How to visit Ranau Rabbit Farm?

As Ranau Rabbit Farm is located at the outskirts of Kota Kinabalu (KK) city, you have less choices when it comes to transportation. Amongst the few ways to get here is by renting a car, taking a taxi/e-Hailing or joining a tour.

How long is the drive to Ranau Rabbit Farm?

If you are travelling from Kota Kinabalu it will take you around 2:30 – 3 hours to get here (120km East of KK city). For those planning to drive here yourself, we suggest you to use Waze/Google Maps to get here as the signboards can be a bit misleading. The roads to Ranau are narrow, windy and a bit steep so make sure to take extra precaution when driving.

Useful tips

  • If you plan to drive here, ensure that your car tyre and brakes are working well
  • Take your time when driving and don’t speed as there are plenty of blind spots and potholes
  • Do carry the rabbits correctly. There are huge signboards showing you how to carry them
  • Be gentle with the rabbits
  • Make sure to carry along your camera to snap photos of these adorable rabbits

Home to hundreds of rabbits from different breeds, the Ranau Rabbit Farm attracts many visitors especially families with kids. During our recent trip to Ranau, we made sure we stopped by this picturesque rabbit farm on our way back.

As we visited rabbit farm on a weekday, there were no other visitors except us. We had the whole place to ourselves and spent around an hour taking photos and playing with the adorable rabbits.
